Giving Hearts: Sunday School Class Gives a Bible Every Week

Recently, I was invited back to Pleasant Beach Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN, where Mark Fowler is the pastor. Thanks to the influence of my friend Markus Seacrist, the church has gotten heavily involved with us in the last year, even taking a Missionary Trip to Honduras last summer.
While speaking about our Smugglers program, many members were moved to help. Still, one in particular, Tommy Vaughn, was determined to involve the children in his first-third grade junior church. Since the cost of a Bible for the Middle East is $6, they each bring a gift of 35¢ to church every Sunday. In that way, they will provide one Bible a week or fifty-two a year! It’s incredible what we can do with pocket change.
Are there any other classes out there that will follow their lead? Let me know, and send a photo of the kids holding up their first offering.
